The identities of the jury members for season 13 of DALS were purposefully kept a secret by TF1 for weeks on end. Now that we know them, there are a few unexpected things.

Chris Marques is there. A season of the program would be unimaginable without the weekly procession of glittery coats and hairspray hairdos he gives the audience.

Jean-Marc Généreux, his erstwhile friend, will be seated beside him. The dancer and choreographer is returning to the DALS jury; he is now performing in the musical Bienvenue au Monastère.

Sami El Gueddari

He was a mainstay of the jury for seasons 1 through 10, but he only made a fleeting cameo in season 12. He then departed the bench for season 11.

Another return to the Fauve Hautot side of the jury. This part was previously performed by the show’s historic dancer in seasons six and eight. She then went back to working with the applicants as a dancer and choreographer. Recall that Fauve Hautot, along with Emmanuel Moire, Sami El Gueddari, Tayc, and Billy Crawford, won four seasons of DALS.

Mel Charlot, the recently appointed DALS jury member

Even with the jurors who are already familiar with the activity, viewers will still be able to meet a new face. Mel Charlot is a dancer that TF1 has indeed hired.

Like Jean-Marc Généreux, she comes from Quebec, although she is by no means a novice. In an interview with the Canadian website 7 Jours, she revealed that she had danced for numerous international celebrities, including Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Pharell X Williams.

In addition, she choreographs for TV programs including So You Think You Can Dance, Lip Sync Battle, and The Masked Singer. She has also demonstrated her ability as a juror by serving as a juror or “master” alongside Jean-Marc Généreux on the Canadian dance program Révolution.

On February 16 on TF1, the new Dancing with the Stars judges will formally begin their tenure ahead of the season 13 debut.
